Description: An intermodal terminal (IMT) or hub is a facility able to move containers between different modes of transport, with storage space for containers waiting for the next leg of the journey. It is usually situated inland at a location that offers access to major road, rail and sometimes waterway transit routes. IMT's are identified by name and boundary polygon. For each IMT, a geographic location name is given as well as identifying the location as Regional or Metropolitan, owner and status (Operational, Under-constructionor Proposed). IMT's are also identified as being part of the Australian National Key Freight Routes (KFR) and\or Inland Railroute.Operational IMT's verified against SA Track and Signal (https://www.sa-trackandsignal.net/) network/signal diagrams and miscellaneous internet sources (news articles, EPBC referrals, company and state/federal government web pages). Some of the proposed IMT's have since been completed, but are operating as freight distribution hub/warehouse with only road access. To separate the IMT's from distribution hub/warehousing sites, the IMT flag is designated with '1' signifying an IMT and <null> as the distribution hub. The location of these are being maintained as these sites may well be developed into IMT's at a later date.StateAustralian state In which IMT is locatedNameRecognised business name of IMTLocationWhether Metro or Regional, distinguished by GCCSA (ABS) 2021 datasetLocality_NameTownship/locality IMT is situated in or nearOwnerOwner of the IMT who leases out facilities to an operator/sOperatorOperator/s of an IMT.
