It is a dataset intended for visualisation purposes in mapping applications only.Abstract:This dataset represents intermodal terminals (IMT) or hubs, which are facilities able to move containers between different modes of transport, with storage space for containers waiting for the next leg of the journey. An IMT is usually situated inland at a location that offers access to major road, rail and sometimes waterway transit routes. The dataset was sourced from a variety of publicly available sources such as state and government websites, and satellite imagery. The dataset was updated recently and is current to December 2024 This data is suitable for use at any scale. This dataset was reviewed and updated in 2024 but may not be comprehensive. This dataset should not be used for analysis. It is only suitable for visualisation. Currency:Date Modified: December 2024Modification Frequency: As NeededData Extent:Spatial Extent:West: 96°South: -44°East: 160°North: -9°Source Information:The creation of the current (2024) IMT dataset has been established through building upon legacy IMT data that was available in the department. This data was originally created through sourcing information relating to IMTs from various public sources including government websites and satellite imagery. Known Limitations:This product is released under the <a href='https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode' target='_blank' style='text-decoration:underline;'>Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a>. Disclaimer:This dataset is presented by the Commonwealth for the purpose of disseminating information free of charge for the benefit of the public.
